[Asia Economy Reporter Park Byung-hee] The National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMCA) will release the online performance 'MMCA Live x Jeong Jae-hyung' on the MMCA YouTube channel at 4 PM on the 30th.
'MMCA Live' is a non-face-to-face online performance series prepared by the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in accordance with social distancing guidelines due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Following the Seoul branch's 'The Phantom of the Opera' and the Deoksugung branch's 'National Theater Yeowoorak Band,' this is the third installment presented at the Gwacheon branch. This special 'MMCA Live x Jeong Jae-hyung' episode is produced with YouTube support.
In the online performance Gwacheon edition, pianist and composer Jeong Jae-hyung, who has recently been active on MBC's entertainment program 'Hangout with Yoo,' will deliver a beautiful performance on the stage of 'MMCA Gwacheon Project 2020' selected work 'Gwa.Cheon.Pyo.Myeon (The Surface),' a specialized outdoor installation program at the MMCA Gwacheon branch.
Jeong Jae-hyung will perform four representative tracks from his albums 'Avec Piano' and 'Le Petit Piano,' including 'There, in the Morning,' 'Mistral,' 'To the Loved Ones,' and 'Summer Swim.' He newly arranged all the pieces specifically for this performance. Cellist Shim Jun-ho, horn player Joo Hong-jin, and keyboardist Yoo Jong-mi will perform together.
The performance video also offers viewers a chance to appreciate various installation works, including the 'MMCA Art Playground,' which reinterprets the beautiful outdoor space of the Gwacheon branch as a place where 'art, nature, and play' coexist. Additionally, Jeong Jae-hyung visits the artwork with artist Lee Seung-taek, who designed 'Gwa.Cheon.Pyo.Myeon,' and they engage in an honest conversation as artists on the themes of 'nature, inspiration, and audience.'
