Korea Electric Power Corporation Supports Amazon US Entry of Social Economy Organizations with Yeolmae Nanum Foundation

Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO), together with the Yeolmae Nanum Foundation, is supporting social economy organizations struggling to enter overseas markets due to the impact of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) by assisting their entry into Amazon US.

They are recruiting 20 social economy organizations (social enterprises, (preliminary) social enterprises, village enterprises, social ventures, etc.) facing difficulties in overseas sales due to COVID-19. Selected companies will receive education and consulting on Amazon US entry from November 2020 until July 2021. Additionally, upon successful entry into Amazon US, they will receive support worth at least 7.5 million KRW, including one year of Amazon US account fees, Amazon order fulfillment logistics costs, Amazon paid marketing program expenses, and overseas sales package production costs.

KEPCO has been conducting overseas market entry support projects for social economy organizations wishing to expand abroad since 2017. From 2017 to 2019, a total of 40 companies participated in KEPCO’s overseas market entry support project for social economy organizations, achieving approximately 1.25 billion KRW in overseas export performance.

Applications will be accepted from October 23 to November 16. For detailed schedules and participation methods, please contact the Yeolmae Nanum Foundation.

Established in 2007, the Yeolmae Nanum Foundation supports the self-reliance and self-sufficiency of low-income vulnerable groups and North Korean defectors by directly founding five social enterprises and supporting 442 individual startups and 92 social enterprises. Recognized for its expertise in fostering social enterprises and microcredit, the foundation received the Presidential Citation of the Republic of Korea in 2011.
