Handmade and Digital Art, New Year Calendar Goods Unveiled
Couple's Collaborative 'Smiling Face' Drawing Draws Attention
"Even during a very ordinary dinner, the evening glow I suddenly looked up at, the white clouds like cotton candy, the flowers blooming by the roadside... In passing encounters and repetitive daily life, comfort and warmth are hidden. Perhaps these small things are happiness."
An exhibition by our art reporter, artist Choi Gilsu, will be held at Yeomi Gallery from November 1 to 14.
Artist Choi usually captures moments of family time, stories of simple life, and flowers and nature encountered during shared travels in his paintings. The exhibition title he chose is 'If Today is Positive, Tomorrow is Happy.' Choi said, "As the exhibition title suggests, I hope this will be a time to once again remind us of the preciousness of happy daily life after escaping the COVID-19 pandemic."
Choi's solo exhibition will be held as a special invitational exhibition at Yeomi Gallery. Through this exhibition, he will present various works including handmade and digital pieces, as well as the upcoming 2021 New Year calendar and goods. In particular, visitors can also see the couple's collaborative work 'Smiling Face,' which combines the writing of Hong Suja, his life partner, with his art.
