October 28 to November 4 Application Submission via Email... Participation Open to Residents Aged 56 and Over or Business Owners/Workers at District-Based Workplaces
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yuseong Hoon) has established the Geumcheon-gu Senior Choir to enhance leisure activities and expand cultural enjoyment opportunities for the elderly, and will recruit a total of 42 members from October 28 to November 4.
Eligibility requirements include residents aged 56 or older (born before November 1, 1964) or business owners and employees of businesses located in the district who have an interest in singing and can contribute to the local community.
Those wishing to participate can download the application form from the ‘Notices’ section on the Geumcheon-gu website, fill it out, and submit it via email (syhigh3@geumcheon.go.kr).
Applicants will undergo a practical test and interview on November 11 to finalize the selection of choir members. The inauguration ceremony for the district senior choir is scheduled to take place at the end of November.
Selected choir members will participate in weekly regular rehearsals, one annual regular concert, various Geumcheon-gu events, and community service activities.
Mayor Yuseong Hoon of Geumcheon-gu stated, “The establishment of the Geumcheon-gu Senior Choir will provide local seniors with healthy leisure activities and opportunities for self-development through music, as well as expand opportunities for community participation, becoming a great source of vitality for the elderly.”
