Providing Practical Technical Training in Organization, Cleaning & Disinfection, and Housing... Supporting Job Creation, Employment, and Establishment of Social Economy Enterprises in the Region
On the 22nd, students of the organizing and storage course at Gwangjin-gu 'Resident Technology School' visited a household and conducted on-site training.
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Seon-gap) is operating a ‘Resident Technology School’ that provides residents with practical technology education.
The ‘Resident Technology School’ was established to provide technology education to residents in connection with local social economy enterprises, thereby supporting the creation of new jobs and employment or establishment of social economy enterprises.
The courses offered include three main programs: ▲‘Organization and Storage Course’ teaching tidying and various storage methods, ▲‘Cleaning and Disinfection Course’ covering cleaning theory and the use of disinfectants, and ▲‘Housing Course’ teaching simple home repairs such as wallpapering, flooring, and carpentry.
First, the ‘Organization and Storage Course’ is being conducted until the end of this month to train organization and storage experts who help create comfortable living spaces, as residents have been spending more time at home due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
Students attend theoretical classes on understanding organization, space storage methods, and household management, then conduct field training at five vulnerable households in the area to review what they have learned.
In particular, this field training is carried out by pre-registering households that want organization and storage assistance, visiting each household twice, focusing on kitchens, refrigerators, and wardrobes that are difficult to organize, while strictly adhering to COVID-19 prevention guidelines.
Additionally, the ‘Housing Course,’ which teaches home repairs such as wallpapering and flooring, will complete 26 sessions by the end of this month and proceed to establish a cooperative composed of graduates, while the ‘Cleaning and Disinfection Course’ was completed last August.
District Mayor Kim Seon-gap said, “We will continue to discover and provide various practical technology education programs that residents need. We will collaborate with local social economy enterprises to create a local virtuous cycle ecosystem where residents manage their community independently and create jobs.”
