[Asia Economy Reporter Dongwoo Lee] As Samsung Group Chairman Lee Kun-hee passed away on the 25th, condolences from business circles continue at the funeral hall set up at Samsung Medical Center in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
CJ Group Chairman Lee Jae-hyun visited the funeral hall around 3:40 p.m. that day with his wife Kim Hee-jae, CJ ENM Executive Director Lee Kyung-hoo, and CJ CheilJedang Manager Lee Sun-ho and his spouse.
Chairman Lee Jae-hyun mourned, saying, "It is heartbreaking that my proud uncle has passed away early," and added, "He was a great man who left a significant legacy for the national economy, loved his family deeply, and was a proud uncle to me who led a large family well."
Lee Jae-hyun stayed at the funeral hall for about an hour and a half, comforting the bereaved family. He said, "I am deeply saddened and heartbroken. I pray that he rests peacefully in heaven."
Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong arrived at the funeral hall around 4:57 p.m. that day, driving himself with his son and daughter. Wearing a black suit, Vice Chairman Lee entered the funeral hall with a solemn expression and went down to the basement where the funeral was held.
Following him, Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance Chairman Chung Mong-yoon, who visited the funeral hall side by side, mourned him as "a great pillar of our country's business community," and HDC Chairman Chung Mong-kyu said, "I pray for the deceased's happiness in the afterlife."

At the funeral hall, wreaths from political and business circles offering condolences for Chairman Lee Kun-hee's final journey continued to arrive.
From the business community, wreaths were sent by POSCO Chairman Choi Jeong-woo, Sejung Chairman Chun Shin-il, Celltrion Chairman Seo Jung-jin, Doosan Chairman Park Jung-won, Hyosung Group Chairman Cho Hyun-joon, KCC CEO and Chairman Chung Mong-jin, and Hanwha Chairman Kim Seung-yeon.
In the political sphere, following Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Sung Yun-mo, wreaths from National Assembly Speaker Park Byeong-seug, Democratic Party leader Lee Nak-yeon, Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha, and People Power Party Emergency Committee Chairman Kim Jong-in were brought into the funeral hall.
Samsung Electronics notified its employees of Chairman Lee's obituary via text messages and emails. An online memorial hall set up on the internal intranet comforted those mourning his final journey.
Chairman Lee passed away at 3:59 a.m. that day at the age of 78. The funeral will be held as a family funeral over four days, with the farewell ceremony on the 28th.
