[Asia Economy Golf Specialist Reporter Kim Hyun-jun] "Next target is the Grand Prize."

Lee Won-jun (Australia) added 6 under par on the final day of the KPGA Bizplay Electronic Times Open (total prize money 500 million KRW) held on the 25th at Tamious Golf Course in Jeju City, Jeju Island (par 72, 6,982 yards), securing a 3-stroke victory (14 under par 202 strokes). He is a player who rose to the ranks of major champions at the KPGA Championship last June. At that time, he set the Korean Tour's lowest 36-hole score (14 under par 126 strokes) in the 1st and 2nd rounds, drawing even more spotlight. This is his second career win in 1 year and 4 months, with a winner's prize of 100 million KRW.

Lee Won-jun, who was once ranked No. 1 in the amateur world rankings with a driving distance exceeding 350 yards during his junior years, lost his presence after turning professional. He moved around the Korean, Japanese, and PGA 2nd tours and suffered from wrist and back injuries. Fortunately, he recovered from his injuries in 2014 and returned through the Japan Golf Tour Organization (JGTO) Q School. Starting the day with a 3-stroke lead, he recorded 7 birdies and 1 bogey.

It is interesting that Lee Won-jun has risen to No. 1 in the Rookie of the Year rankings (1,680 points). He only participated in 3 tournaments last year, so his eligibility was carried over to this season. He also surged to 5th place (2,413 points) in the Grand Prize rankings. "If I become No. 1, I want to go to the European Tour and test my skills," he said with determination. Kim Seung-hyuk (34) is in 2nd place (11 under par 205 strokes), and Heo In-hoe (33) is in 3rd place (8 under par 208 strokes). Kim Tae-hoon (35) finished tied for 32nd (1 over par 217 strokes) but secured No. 1 in the prize money and Grand Prize rankings (2,980.5 points).
