Jeonnam Province Intensively Inspects COVID-19 Prevention Management for Rural Tourism Businesses

[Muan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] Jeonnam Province has launched a focused inspection on COVID-19 quarantine management of rural tourism businesses within the province.

On the 25th, the province announced that, following the nationwide adjustment of social distancing to Level 1, it will conduct focused inspections on compliance with core quarantine rules targeting rural experience and recreation villages, tourist farms, recreational complexes, and rural homestay businesses.

With the recent decline in the spread of COVID-19, the province expects an increase in visitors to rural tourism and plans to complete joint inspections with city and county governments by the 27th.

The inspections will focus on ▲ disinfecting business sites at least once a week ▲ using electronic entry logs or manually written logs ▲ ensuring employees and visitors wear masks and undergo temperature checks.

If violations are found during the inspections, corrective actions will be taken according to the "Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Act," and in cases where damage or loss occurs due to COVID-19 quarantine breaches, administrative measures will be accompanied by claims for compensation and medical expenses.

Jung Hayong, Director of Agricultural Policy at Jeonnam Province, said, “With social distancing adjusted to Level 1, the number of visitors to rural experience and recreation villages is expected to increase, so we will do our best to strictly adhere to quarantine rules to prevent confirmed cases,” and added, “We ask visitors to Jeonnam to cooperate in following the quarantine guidelines.”

Meanwhile, currently in Jeonnam, a total of 3,485 rural tourism businesses are operating, including 169 rural experience and recreation villages, 82 tourist farms, 4 rural tourism recreational complexes, and 3,230 rural homestays.
