2 Additional Infections Related to Gunhosi Medical Institution and Anyang Nursing Facility
Cumulative Confirmed Cases Reach 13 in a Family in Guro-gu
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] Cluster outbreaks of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) continue.
As of 12:00 PM on the 24th, the Central Disease Control Headquarters (CDCH) announced that 11 additional confirmed cases were reported related to the Happy Care Nursing Home in Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province, bringing the total confirmed cases to 46. Among the total confirmed cases, 23 are nursing home residents and 14 are nursing home staff. Additionally, 2 people from another nursing home in the same building and 7 family members of confirmed cases were also infected.
In cases related to medical institutions in Gunpo, Gyeonggi Province, and nursing facilities in Anyang City, 3 additional infections were confirmed. The total cumulative confirmed cases so far are 37. At SRC Rehabilitation Hospital in Gwangju, Gyeonggi Province, 4 more confirmed cases were reported, bringing the total to 128. In the case of Pyeonggang Clinic in Geumjeong-gu, Busan, 1 infection was confirmed during self-quarantine. The total confirmed cases so far are 17.
At Chungnam National University Hospital in Daejeon, 2 people who were in isolation tested positive, bringing the total confirmed cases to 6.
Cluster infections also occurred outside medical institutions. In a gathering of acquaintances in Gangnam and Seocho districts, Seoul, 4 additional confirmed cases were found during contact tracing, bringing the total confirmed cases to 29. Regarding the Sammo Sporex in Gwanak-gu, Seoul, 3 additional infections were confirmed. The total confirmed cases related to this case are currently 13.
At a family holiday gathering in Yuseong-gu, Daejeon, 2 people in isolation were additionally confirmed positive. The total confirmed cases so far are 33. In a gathering of acquaintances in Cheonan, Chungnam Province, 2 more confirmed cases were reported. The total confirmed cases so far are 24.
A new cluster infection case linked to a family gathering also occurred. Related to a family in Guro-gu, Seoul, after the first confirmed case on the 22nd, 12 additional confirmed cases were found during contact tracing, bringing the total confirmed cases to 13.
