'The Day I Died' depicts the story of a girl who disappeared off a cliff leaving only a suicide note, a detective tracking the case at the edge of life, and a silent witness who reaches out to them, each making their own choices to survive.
Kim Hye-soo said, "I play Hyun-soo, the detective tracking the missing girl," adding, "The island setting itself symbolizes loneliness, isolation, and the wounds and pain one must bear alone."
Lee Jung-eun, who plays the silent witness Sooncheon-dak, said, "I lost my voice due to an unexpected accident," and added, "I like that I don't have to memorize lines."
Kim Hye-soo said about Lee Jung-eun, "I really wanted to see actress Lee Jung-eun playing Sooncheon-dak. I was amazed by Lee Jung-eun who always exceeds expectations and anticipation."
Noh Jeong-eui plays Se-jin, the missing girl from the island village. Kim Hye-soo praised Noh Jeong-eui, saying, "She was unanimously chosen for the role of Se-jin through auditions. I had high expectations. She possesses a bright beauty and maturity. She has a complex charm that cannot be defined by a single face."
Meanwhile, Lee Jung-eun, who debuted in theater, became known to the public by vividly portraying the fortune teller 'Seobinggo' in the drama 'Oh My Ghost.' Since then, she has appeared in dramas such as 'Fight for My Way,' 'Mr. Sunshine,' and 'Radiant,' as well as films like 'A Violent Prosecutor,' 'Taxi Driver,' and 'Miss Baek,' consistently acting as a scene-stealer who breathes life into every work.
In particular, Lee Jung-eun delivered a powerful presence as the housekeeper 'Moon-gwang' in the acclaimed film 'Parasite,' which swept the Academy Awards and Cannes, turning the flow of the movie around.
