[Asia Economy Reporter Park Ji-hwan] Yoon Seok-heon, Governor of the Financial Supervisory Service (FSS), denied allegations of involvement by FSS employees in the Lime and Optimus incidents on the 23rd.
At the National Assembly's Political Affairs Committee comprehensive audit that day, when Seong Il-jong, a member of the People Power Party, raised suspicions of involvement in the Lime and Optimus incidents, Governor Yoon stated, "Claims that retired employees were involved or that employees without direct work connections were involved are extremely indirect evidence," adding, "We have not yet found any evidence that our employees engaged in fraudulent activities during the course of their duties."
Governor Yoon also emphasized, "We have done our best within the capabilities and institutional means available to the FSS," and stated, "There is no shame whatsoever."
He said, "The initial issues raised were complex, took a lot of time, and occurred simultaneously, which could understandably lead to misunderstandings," adding, "According to our internal review, the handling of tasks was strictly carried out according to the procedures required of us; however, there were delays for various reasons, and I apologize for the fact that this process escalated into a major problem."
