[Today’s Weather] Bitter Morning Cold... Cold Wave Advisory for Gyeonggi and Gangwon On the 23rd, the day of Sanggang (霜降), the solar term when frost falls, and the coldest day of this autumn, a guardian is hugging a child going to school in front of an elementary school in Seocho-gu, Seoul. The Korea Meteorological Administration forecasted that morning temperatures would drop to around 5 degrees Celsius in most parts of the country, with daytime temperatures remaining below 15 degrees Celsius.


[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-ju] On Saturday the 24th, the whole country will be mostly clear, with some areas experiencing chilly temperatures dropping below freezing.


In the northern Gyeonggi region, northern inland Gangwon, and Gangwon mountain areas where a cold wave advisory has been issued, morning temperatures will fall to around 0 degrees Celsius, while other regions will see temperatures ranging from 5 to 10 degrees Celsius.


Morning low temperatures by region are △Seoul 2°C △Incheon 5°C △Chuncheon 0°C △Gangneung 5°C △Daejeon 4°C △Daegu 5°C △Busan 7°C △Jeonju 5°C △Gwangju 8°C △Jeju 13°C.


Daytime high temperatures are △Seoul 14°C △Chuncheon 14°C △Gangneung 16°C △Daejeon 15°C △Daegu 16°C △Busan 17°C △Jeonju 15°C △Gwangju 15°C △Jeju 17°C.


This cold spell is expected to peak on the morning of the 24th and then temperatures will gradually rise.


Fine dust levels will be 'Good' across all regions.


The Korea Meteorological Administration advised, "Frost will form mainly inland, and ice may form in the central inland, North Gyeongsang inland, and southern mountain areas. Please take special care to prevent damage to crops during the autumn harvest season."
