Amid the COVID-19 situation, the Boseong BS Samchongsa, created directly by public officials to support local farmers, was the only character from a county-level unit to advance to the finals of the 'Our Neighborhood Character Awards,' competing against metropolitan and Seoul metropolitan area-centered local governments.
This year's 'Our Neighborhood Character Awards' saw participation from 63 local governments nationwide, showing unprecedented interest.
BS Samchongsa is a 'kind character' created by personifying Boseong-gun's representative specialty products: green tea, cockles, and kiwi, and is actively engaged on the county's YouTube channel and other social media platforms.
In particular, it received high praise for achieving results by having the Boseong-gun public relations team officials themselves gather ideas and plan the character without outsourcing to a professional character development agency, creating the character with a design cost of 3 million won.
