Securing 50 Million KRW in National Funds... Expectation to Establish a Virtuous Cycle System for Food
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jae-gil] Jeongeup City in Jeonbuk announced on the 23rd that it has been finally selected for the '2021 Regional Food Plan Establishment Support Project' led by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, securing 50 million KRW in national funding.
Accordingly, the city expects to gain momentum in establishing a safe food foundation through a comprehensive plan for future food sources and the establishment of a regional food plan.
The Food Plan Establishment Support Project is a comprehensive food strategy project aimed at building a virtuous food cycle system within the region and is a key government agricultural policy task.
This project aims to create a local food circulation system linking the entire process of food production, distribution, and consumption, promoting job creation, building and developing a sustainable food system, and stabilizing the management of farmers and fishermen.
The city plans to initiate a research service for the establishment of the food plan and formulate a comprehensive strategy for food circulation within the region.
A city official said, “Through this project, we will establish a circular production, distribution, and consumption system tailored to local conditions, creating an integrated food supply system that ensures stability and public interest.”
