Jeonnam Creator Week Exhibition, Cheongam University National High School Webtoon Contest Winning Works Display

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] The award-winning works of the 1st National High School Webtoon Contest, organized by the Webtoon Content Department of Cheongam University, are being exhibited at the Webtoon Creator Week Exhibition held at Jeonnam Content Korea Lab since the 21st.

Cheongam University (President Seo Hyung-won) is showcasing excellent webtoon works that won awards in the 1st National High School Webtoon Contest held to promote the newly established Webtoon Content Department and to expand the webtoon base. A Cheongam University booth was set up at the Webtoon Creator Week Exhibition hosted by Jeonnam Content Korea Lab.

The contest, held under the theme "Together Challenge," recruited entries from high school students nationwide from July to September in the categories of cartoon, story comics, and character design, with over 100 participants.

As a result, 12 final works were selected and awards including Grand Prize, Gold Prize, Silver Prize, Bronze Prize, and Encouragement Prize were announced. The Grand Prize was awarded to Jo Eun-ji, a third-year student at Suncheon Girls' High School.

The judging panel consisted of Professor Jang Woong from the Webtoon Content Department and three professional webtoon artists. Submitted works were evaluated based on effort, potential for development, and talent to select the final winners.

Professor Jang Woong of the Webtoon Content Department said, "Cheongam University's Webtoon Content Department will continue to support students aspiring to become domestic webtoon artists and strive to spread webtoon culture within the local community."

Meanwhile, to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the awards for this contest will be delivered individually by mail without a separate ceremony.

The exhibition of winning works is being held on the first floor of Jeonnam Content Korea Lab from the 21st to the 30th, and winners will receive a special presidential scholarship when enrolling in the Webtoon Content Department at Cheongam University.
