[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jun-kyung] The Planning and Administration Committee of the Jeonnam Provincial Council held its 2nd Planning and Administration Committee meeting on the 21st and announced on the 23rd that it reviewed and approved five '2021 Regular Shared Property Management Plans' submitted to the 347th extraordinary session.
During the meeting, questions were raised regarding the integrated relocation and establishment of the Haenam County Samsan-myeon Fruit Research Institute and the sale of general property (land) of the former Safari Island in Dochomyeon, Shinan County.
First, concerning the integrated relocation and establishment of the Haenam Fruit Research Institute, inquiries were made about ▲ the appropriateness of the site selection service ▲ omission of preliminary procedures ▲ reasonable calculation of land purchase costs ▲ and issues in the project budget allocation.
In response, the Agricultural Technology Institute stated, "In the preliminary site selection process, we reflected the results of the research service and will supplement the points raised during the shared property review by promoting the financial investment review procedures."
The committee members questioned ▲ the validity of the sale of the former Safari Island general property (land) ▲ legality of the four-year installment payment for the land price ▲ long-term utilization plans ▲ audit points raised by the Board of Audit and Inspection in September 2014 ▲ and the low expected sale price. They also pointed out the 81.7 billion KRW private investment attraction amount for the Island Utopia development project and the exit strategy following its failure.
The Jeonnam Provincial Department of Oceans and Fisheries explained the efforts made so far to sell the property, reasons for project suspension, private investment attraction plans, and countermeasures for the plan's setbacks.
Chairman Park Moon-ok said, "We will thoroughly verify the regular shared property management plans submitted in this session during the administrative audit period of the 2nd regular meeting of the 348th session and continuously monitor the progress of the reported shared property plans."
