Established in 2016 with over 7,000 annual users, recently completed facility upgrades... Repairs of aging damaged facilities and expansion of Eco Adventure and Log Climbing activities
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seodaemun-gu (Mayor Moon Seok-jin) announced on the 23rd that it has recently completed an environmental improvement project for the Baekryeonsan Maebawi Forest Experience Center for Young Children (Hong Eun-dong San 19-19 area).
This forest experience center is a place where children can run and play in nature, enhancing their curiosity and imagination. Since its establishment in 2016, it has provided safe and diverse experiences to more than 7,000 young children annually.
The district repaired aging or damaged facilities such as the ‘Rope Climbing’ and ‘Indian House’ and expanded facilities including the ‘Eco Adventure’ and ‘Log Climbing’ through environmental improvements.
In particular, the Eco Adventure is an adventure play facility where children move between trees using a rope net, and it was first introduced here among Seoul’s forest experience centers for young children.
The forest experience center recruits annual users through a lottery held at the beginning of each year, and forest experience instructors conduct beneficial programs for the children.
It is popular not only among young children but also among older children as it helps strengthen the body and mind and fosters a spirit of challenge through natural experiences.
Moon Seok-jin, Mayor of Seodaemun-gu, said, “We hope that the Baekryeonsan Maebawi Forest Experience Center for Young Children will receive even more love as a space that contributes to the holistic growth of young children through interaction with nature in the urban environment.”
