Shinchon District, which was once considered an outskirt area within Pyeongtaek City, is emerging as a large-scale residential area connected with Dongsak District and Segyo District, gaining attention as Pyeongtaek's new residential town.
Pyeongtaek City has been developing around new urban areas such as Godeok International New City, the old downtown area centered on Pyeongtaek Station, Sosabeol District, Yongjuk District, and Yongyi District. However, recently, construction companies have been forming urban development zones centered around Subway Line 1 and SRT Jije Station, developing them into brand towns.
In particular, Jije Station is expected to be developed into a complex transfer center covering a total area of 53,937㎡, including commercial, business, and cultural facilities, and is anticipated to become the hub of southern Gyeonggi Province's metropolitan transportation. Consequently, residential complexes within urban development zones such as Shinchon District are expected to be the biggest beneficiaries of the Jije Station area development.
Additionally, this area is highly valued as a residential area close to workplaces due to its proximity to Ssangyong Motor, Pyeongtaek General Distribution Complex, Anseong Wongok Industrial Complex, Songtan Industrial Complex, and Samsung Electronics Godeok Industrial Complex. Not only Jije Station but also Pyeongtaek-Jecheon Expressway, Gyeongbu Expressway, and Pyeongtaek Eastern Expressway (scheduled to open in 2024) are nearby, offering fast and convenient transportation.
