To Enhance Speed and Independence, Spinning Off on the 1st of Next Month... "We Will Become a Delivery Platform Loved by Both Customers and Self-Employed"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Wemakeprice's delivery application, Wemakeprice O, is taking its first step as an independent company. This move aims to enter the delivery platform market competition through faster and more autonomous decision-making.
Wemakeprice announced on the 23rd that its delivery and pickup service, Wemakeprice O, will spin off on the 1st of next month. Wemakeprice O, which started its delivery service in April last year, was initiated as an in-house venture led by members of the Wemakeprice O2O team. Within just over a year since its launch, it surpassed 500,000 monthly active users (MAU), ranking fourth among domestic delivery services.
With Wemakeprice O launching as an independent corporation, it is expected to gain stronger momentum in attracting investments for growth. On the 18th of last month, Wemakeprice O introduced a '0% commission fee' policy (server usage fee of 8,800 KRW per week applies separately). There are no additional advertising or incidental costs. This measure is intended to coexist with local small business owners who are facing difficulties. They are also consistently running point accumulation promotions of around 50% in collaboration with franchises such as BBQ and KFC.
The CEO position will be held by Ha Jae-wook, head of the Wemakeprice O2O team. The team will be composed of employees responsible for the service who wish to join. They plan to share the fruits of growth by granting stock options to these members. Wemakeprice O aims to grow as a comprehensive O2O (Online to Offline) service by offering various local discount services including tickets, restaurants, beauty, and leisure, in addition to delivery and pickup.
Ha Jae-wook, the appointed CEO of Wemakeprice O, stated, "Wemakeprice O has grown into a platform sought by many customers in a short period by coexisting with local small business owners," adding, "With a fast decision-making structure, we will promptly respond to the demands of customers and partners to grow into Korea's representative delivery service."
