Korea Cement Association Operates 'Resource Circulation Center' Promotion Booth at '2020 Gangwon Green Expo'
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] The cement industry is stepping up to address environmental issues such as the increasing waste disposal problem. The industry is determined to highlight its positive role in passing on a beautiful natural environment to future generations by promoting the stable use of circular resources (recyclable waste).
The Korea Cement Association announced that it will participate in the '2020 Gangwon Green Expo' held from the 23rd to the 25th at the Bomnae Gymnasium in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province, to promote the safe recycling processes of circular resources and excellent eco-friendly facilities in the cement industry.
At this expo, which focuses on the Green New Deal industry in preparation for the post-COVID-19 era, the Korea Cement Association plans to operate a 'Resource Circulation Center' exhibition hall to inform visitors about the recycling process and safety of circular resources such as coal ash, waste plastics, and waste tires being reused as raw materials and auxiliary fuels in the cement manufacturing process.
Additionally, to raise awareness of circular resources, various promotional activities will be conducted, including screening promotional videos on the 'Resource Circulation-type Cement Industry' and distributing booklets summarizing excellent cooperation cases related to circular resource recycling between the cement industry and local governments, aiming to attract interest and positive responses from general visitors.
A representative of the Korea Cement Association stated, "In the domestic reality of scarce resources, environmentally friendly, safe, and perfect recycling of waste is the core of realizing a resource-circulating society that the government pursues," adding, "The cement industry will play an indispensable role in sustainable national development through the revitalization of the resource circulation industry and will continue to take the lead in realizing a circular economy."
