[Asia Economy reporters Lee Ji-eun and Lim Chun-han] Joo Ho-young, floor leader of the People Power Party, raised his voice regarding the resignation of Park Soon-cheol, head of the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office, who was responsible for investigating the 'Lime scandal,' saying, "It is not Prosecutor Park who should resign, but Minister of Justice Chu Mi-ae."

On the morning of the 23rd, at a National Assembly inspection countermeasure meeting, Floor Leader Joo said, "Minister Chu has already destroyed the prosecution and done a great service in protecting the regime, so it would be best if she were satisfied and stepped down."

He added, "She has already earned enough credit for the regime by stopping the Ulsan mayoral election manipulation case, dismissing those who investigated the Ministry of Environment blacklist, and the collusion between the media and authorities case," quoting a line from the Korean movie Friend, "Goma haera, mai muk-eotda" (Stop it, you've done enough), urging Minister Chu to resign.

Regarding the prosecution inspection at the Supreme Prosecutors' Office the previous day, Floor Leader Joo said, "There was controversy over whether the Prosecutor General is a subordinate of the Minister of Justice, but if, as Minister Chu says, he is a subordinate, then he has suffered humiliation by being confronted by two subordinates," and pointed out, "He was confronted by those subordinates for exercising authority based on illegal and factually incorrect grounds, and if he were an ordinary person, it would be Minister Chu, not Prosecutor Park, who should resign out of shame."

He also evaluated, "The Democratic Party of Korea created the Euljiro Committee to eliminate abuse of power, but yesterday's inspection revealed that the Minister of Justice repeatedly abuses power over the Prosecutor General with authority not even stipulated by law," adding, "While our lawmakers led the Judiciary Committee inspection very gracefully based on facts, Democratic Party lawmakers showed the public many examples of double talk, duplicity, and sophistry."
