Retro Coffee Cups, Mini Eco Bags, and Phone Slide Grips Emphasizing Practicality
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Songpa-gu (Mayor Seong-su Park) has released souvenirs featuring the district's new character ‘Songsong-Papa’ and the city brand CI, which have received much love from residents.
The newly released souvenirs include a retro coffee cup, mini eco bag, pouch, and phone slide grip, totaling five items, designed with practicality and cost-effectiveness in line with the latest trends.
The ‘Songsong-Papa Retro Coffee Cup’ was designed in-house by the district to match the recent retro trend. It is expected to receive a positive response from young people who are sensitive to trends such as Newtro.
The ‘I Songpa Slide Grip’ differs from existing grip tok products by supporting wireless charging, adding functionality, while the ‘Songsong-Papa Mini Eco Bag’ is made in a tote bag size smaller than standard eco bags to enhance portability.
Additionally, a ‘Drawstring Pouch’ embroidered with the Songpa Dullegil BI logo and a ‘Songsong-Papa Post-it’ have been released. The souvenirs are sold at the Songpa Tourism Information Center and the cultural experimental space ‘Hosoo’ inside Seokchon Lake, priced between 6,000 and 12,000 KRW.
Meanwhile, on July 1st, the district unveiled a new city brand CI and character that symbolize and condense its future vision.
The city brand symbolizes the Korean consonant ‘ㅅ’ from ‘Seoul,’ ‘Seondo’ (leading), and ‘Songpa,’ encapsulating the meaning of Songpa as a leading city in Seoul.
The new characters ‘Songsong’ and ‘Papa’ embody a heart (‘ㅅ’) representing a happy life and a bridge (‘ㅍ’) connecting diverse values and cultures. With distinctive names and friendly images, they have gained great popularity among children and young people.
Seong-su Park, Mayor of Songpa-gu, said, “To effectively promote the city’s image, we develop and produce tourism souvenirs every year that reflect Songpa’s characteristics. We hope that through the newly produced souvenirs, tourists will feel closer to Songpa and remember it as a city they want to visit again.”
