[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-ju] In a comprehensive COVID-19 test at a nursing home in Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province, 34 additional residents and staff members tested positive. The total number of confirmed cases at this nursing home has increased to 35.
On the 22nd, Namyangju City announced that out of 37 residents and staff members at Nursing Home A who were tested for COVID-19, 34 additional cases were confirmed. Among the confirmed cases, 22 were residents and 12 were staff members.
Earlier that day, an elderly resident in their 80s at Nursing Home A tested positive for COVID-19. This confirmed case showed symptoms on the 19th and underwent diagnostic testing on the 20th.
Since there are a total of eight nursing homes operating in the building where Nursing Home A is located, there are concerns about further spread. Health authorities are conducting an epidemiological investigation.
