[Today's Weather] Frost Falls on 'Sanggang'... Cold Wave Warnings in Northern Gyeonggi and Gangwon

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-ju] Friday, the 23rd, marks Sanggang (霜降), the solar term when frost falls, and the coldest weather of this autumn is forecasted, with cold wave warnings issued in some areas.

Today, morning temperatures will drop to around 5 degrees Celsius in most parts of the country, and daytime temperatures will remain below 15 degrees Celsius.

Temperatures in the central inland and southern mountainous areas will fall below freezing. In northern Gyeonggi and northern Gangwon Yeongseo, temperatures will drop sharply, prompting cold wave warnings.

From 3 a.m. to morning, raindrops are expected along the northern Gangwon East Coast.

Snow flurries are also expected in the northern mountainous areas of Gangwon.

Morning low temperatures by region are forecasted as follows: △Seoul 4°C △Chuncheon 2°C △Gangneung 7°C △Daejeon 6°C △Cheongju 6°C △Daegu 8°C △Busan 9°C △Jeonju 7°C △Gwangju 9°C △Jeju 15°C.

Daytime high temperatures are expected to be: △Seoul 13°C △Chuncheon 14°C △Gangneung 16°C △Daejeon 15°C △Cheongju 14°C △Daegu 16°C △Busan 17°C △Jeonju 15°C △Gwangju 15°C △Jeju 16°C.

Fine dust levels will range from 'Good' to 'Moderate' across all regions.

The Korea Meteorological Administration advised, "Since morning temperatures will be low and cold, the elderly and vulnerable should take special care to maintain body warmth."
