Two Relatives of Confirmed Patient at Jangseong Nursing Hospital Test Positive for COVID-19

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Four new COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in Gwangju, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 507.


According to Gwangju Metropolitan City on the 22nd, a total of four people tested positive for COVID-19, including two imported cases and two local infections, classified as cases 504 to 507 in the region.


The local infection cases are the first in four days since the 18th.


Cases 506 and 507 are residents of Munheung-dong, Buk-gu, and have been confirmed as relatives of case 179 in Jeonnam, who tested positive on the same day.


Previously confirmed case 179 in Jeonnam is a woman in her 80s residing in Gwangju, who visited a nursing hospital in Jangseong for admission and tested positive during the pre-admission screening.


Cases 504 and 507 are imported cases who entered from Kuwait. They were admitted to the Gwangju Fire Academy the day before, where samples were collected, and tested positive on the day.


Currently, among the 507 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Gwangju, 494 have recovered and been discharged, while 10 are undergoing isolation treatment. There have been three deaths.


A total of 157,378 people have been tested, with 280 awaiting results.


There are 11,213 contacts of confirmed cases, with 51 currently in quarantine.
