[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] Muan-gun, Jeonnam (Governor Kim San) designated Wonsachang Village in Sachang 1-ri, Mongtan-myeon as the 2nd Dementia Safe Village on the 22nd and held a plaque ceremony.

At the plaque ceremony held that day, Governor Kim San, Chairman of the County Council Kim Dae-hyun, County Council members Kim Kyung-hyun, Lee Yo-jin, Lee Jung-woon, and residents attended to celebrate the designation of the Dementia Safe Village.

A Dementia Safe Village is a village that supports dementia patients, their families, and local residents to safely live as members of the community in the village where the patient lived, enabling daily life.

The county plans to utilize the Wonsachang Village Hall as a base rest area for the Dementia Safe Village and create a dementia-friendly environment that everyone can feel through various promotions and program operations to improve dementia awareness.

A county official said, "We plan to continuously expand and operate safe villages without dementia worries with the participation of local residents," adding, "We will do our best efforts and support to establish it as a resident-participation type Dementia Safe Village where all county residents can live healthy and happy lives."
