‘Corona’ Has Stopped... World Mountain Film Festival Sells Out One After Another "Rising Up"

The 5th Ulju World Mountain Film Festival Opening with 3 Films and Some Sold-Out Screenings
Outdoor Screenings and Online Viewing from October 23 to November 1 Set Against the 'Yeongnam Alps'

‘Corona’ Has Stopped... World Mountain Film Festival Sells Out One After Another "Rising Up" A shot from 'Wings Over Everest' submitted to the Ulju Mountain Film Festival.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] International film festivals centered on mountains are overcoming the momentum of COVID-19 and announcing sold-out reservations one by one.

The opening films and some screenings of the ‘5th Ulju World Mountain Film Festival (Executive Chairman Bae Chang-ho),’ held from October 23 to November 1, are reported to be sold out or nearly sold out.

At the advance booking that started on the 12th, the opening films and ‘Wings Over Everest’ sold out in 4 and 5 days respectively. ‘Point Break’ and ‘Out of Africa’ are also expected to sell out soon.

‘Point Break’ is a mountain blockbuster film that tells the story of the FBI traveling around the world to sweep away various crime scenes.

It allows viewers to experience the thrill of mountain sports such as skydiving, high-difficulty surfing, boarding on snowy cliffs, and wingsuit flying.

‘Out of Africa’ is a 1985 film that remains a classic. Depending on when it is watched, the emotional immersion and reviews vary. This film can be seen on a large outdoor screen during the late autumn full moon.

On the 24th and 25th, daytime screenings (10 a.m., 4 p.m.) such as ‘In Search of the Lost World’ and ‘Forest Dental Clinic’ await. These films, suitable for families to enjoy together, are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday daytime.

Unlike the usual nighttime drive-in theaters, the daytime drive-in theaters with Sinbulsan and Ganuwolsan in the Yeongnam Alps as the screen backdrop offer new memories.

‘Hadwin’s Choice’ and ‘The Call of Apurimac River,’ stories of nature and humans that can only be seen at the Ulju World Mountain Film Festival, also entice movie fans.

‘Hadwin’s Choice’ is about the golden spruce tree caused by a genetic mutation. Like the classic ‘The Mission,’ it is a film that leaves a lasting impression by asking, “What choice would I make?” after the movie ends.

‘The Call of Apurimac River’ is a story of traveling by kayak through unknown lands, sacred waters, and mythical spaces. Set against pristine nature, it shows the thrill and joy of crossing canyons with human resilience and will to overcome.

The 5th Ulju World Mountain Film Festival will be held from October 23 to November 1 at the drive-in theater installed in the Yeongnam Alps Complex Welcome Center Plaza in Deungok-ri, Sangbuk-myeon, Ulju-gun, Ulsan, and online screening venues.
