Youth Connect announced on the 22nd that it has signed a business agreement with Youth Today and will engage in activities to solve various issues related to youth housing following their monthly lecture series.
Youth Connect stated that through this business agreement, they will strive to deeply address problems related to youth housing.
In particular, the organization explained that discussions will be held regarding aspects such as interior design within youth housing to find improvement measures.
Yang Juna, Director of the Design Department at Youth Connect, said, “The story of owning a home has already become a thing of the past for young people,” adding, “Although the government is implementing various housing policies for youth, the bitter reality is that they ultimately have no choice but to live in rental housing or monthly/annual lease arrangements rather than purchasing.”
Director Yang emphasized, “Living spaces should be not only for basic needs like food, clothing, and shelter but also mentally comfortable spaces.”
Director Yang further stated, “Even if the dream of owning a home cannot be realized, I want to discuss design aspects to make the space mentally better. Youth housing is the most applied-for and representative housing policy for young people, so we will carry out activities to find areas for design improvements in this regard,” stressing this point again.
A representative from Youth Today also commented on the agreement, saying, “Many university students inevitably live away from home to attend school, but despite paying high costs, they often do not have good living environments,” and added, “I hope this agreement will serve as an opportunity to review the current reality of youth housing.”
They emphasized, “The purpose of this agreement is not just to review but also to simultaneously investigate and research how living spaces can become mentally better environments for young people.”
Meanwhile, based on this business agreement, Youth Today and Youth Connect plan to form a Youth Committee in November.
