The government is providing emergency livelihood support through the 4th supplementary budget only to low-income households among crisis households whose income has decreased due to COVID-19 and who have not received other damage support programs.
The eligible recipients are households confirmed to have experienced a 25% or more income reduction due to COVID-19, such as through job loss or business suspension/closure. The household income must be 75% or less of the median income (3,562,000 KRW for a family of four), and assets must be 350 million KRW or less (300 million KRW or less for farming and fishing villages).
However, households with a history of receiving basic livelihood security benefits, national emergency welfare, or those who have benefited from other COVID-19 damage support programs are excluded.
Applications can be submitted both online and offline until the 30th of this month.
On-site applications can only be made by the head of the household at the local town or township office of the applicant's address, while online applications can be made by the head of the household, household members, or representatives.
The support amounts are ▲ 400,000 KRW for a single-person household ▲ 600,000 KRW for a two-person household ▲ 800,000 KRW for a three-person household ▲ 1,000,000 KRW for households of four or more.
The county will review each household's asset and income status based on the income reduction proof documents submitted by the applicants and plans to provide the emergency livelihood support payment in a single batch once between November and December.
