Kumho Tire Expands OE Supply to Czech Skoda Corporation

[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Kumho Tire announced on the 22nd that it will supply original equipment (OE) tires for Skoda's representative compact mid-size flagship model and bestseller, the Octavia, as well as the compact crossover Kamiq. Kumho Tire has been supplying tires for the Octavia since May of this year and plans to start supplying for the Kamiq from January next year.

The Kamiq, first unveiled at the 2018 Beijing Motor Show as part of Skoda's SUV lineup expansion policy, is a compact crossover expected to become Skoda's next-generation model by riding the recent popularity trend of small SUVs. Despite being an urban compact SUV, the Kamiq offers practical and spacious interiors, a wide display panel with various media and information functions, and a range of safety and convenience features including forward collision prevention and lane-keeping assist systems.

The Ecsta PS71 is a high-performance premium sports UHP tire that delivers excellent handling and high-speed driving stability while enhancing mileage performance. It also maintains the wet braking performance, the greatest strength of the previous model, the Ecsta LE Sport.
