"Big 5 Benefits Offered" SKT to Start iPhone 12 Pre-Orders Tomorrow... Activation on 30th


[Asia Economy Reporter Seulgina Cho] SK Telecom announced on the 22nd that from the 23rd to the 29th, customers who pre-order the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro at T World stores and the official online shop T Direct Shop (shop.tworld.co.kr) and subsequently activate their devices will receive Big 5 benefits.


From T-money Sticker Card to Exclusive Loss Insurance

Reflecting the high interest of iPhone customers in mobile payments and insurance, SK Telecom is offering a free T-money sticker card with transportation card functionality and has launched the enhanced New T iPhone Care with improved compensation benefits.


SK Telecom will give a free T-money sticker card to the first 5,000 customers who pre-order and activate the iPhone 12 through T Direct Shop. The T-money sticker card, officially to be released by T-money Co., Ltd., can be attached as a sticker on the back of the iPhone, enabling various offline payments such as transportation card use. This is exclusively provided first only to SK Telecom iPhone 12 customers.


Additionally, for customers concerned about iPhone loss or damage, New T iPhone Care has been prepared. New T iPhone Care covers both loss + damage (KRW 15,000 per month, VAT included) and damage only (KRW 11,000 per month, VAT included), and is the only domestic AppleCare service that includes a loss option. The number of compensations has been increased to cover a total of 6 times over 3 years. It also provides 50GB of iCloud storage, which is widely used by iPhone customers, free of charge, and allows cancellation at any time without contract or penalty fees.


"Don’t Wait in Line" Early Morning Delivery on the 30th Activation Date

In response to the contactless era, SK Telecom will offer early morning delivery starting at midnight on the 30th for customers living in the metropolitan area who want to receive the iPhone 12 as soon as possible. Customers who pre-order the iPhone 12 on T Direct Shop and apply for the Fast Arrival service can receive early morning delivery for the first 1,000 customers. Additionally, a chatbot service is available 24/7, 365 days a year, to answer any questions about purchasing the iPhone 12 and recommended plans.


Customers who pre-order and activate the iPhone 12 on T Direct Shop can choose one gift from a total of eight, including ▲ Apple genuine 20W USB-C power adapter + T-money sticker card SET ▲ Sajoyoung Charging Heyjoyoung SET ▲ Sajoyoung Together Heyjoyoung SET ▲ Creang 3in1 wireless charging sterilizer ▲ Aprilstone iPhone gift pack ▲ Motorola sonic sub 500 Bluetooth speaker ▲ Freedy Apple multi charger ▲ Aprilstone A20 2.0 Bluetooth earphones.


Sajoyoung Goods Provided... Prize Event Also Held

Furthermore, customers who apply to participate in the ‘iPhone 12 Sajoyoung Early Bird Surprise’ event by November 3rd and activate the iPhone 12 on T Direct Shop will be entered into a draw to receive a KRW 50,000 discount coupon to purchase Sajoyoung limited edition goods (KRW 59,900) for KRW 9,900. The Sajoyoung goods consist of the ‘Expectjoyoung Cushion’ and ‘Runjoyoung Board.’


On Instagram, an online queue event with Sajoyoung will also take place. Customers with an Instagram account can download the ‘Sajoyoung iPhone 12 Queue’ image from the 23rd to the 29th and upload it with hashtags to receive free iPhone 12s, AirPods, and more.


Starting in November, SK Telecom will offer T Day partnership discounts mainly on accessories, games, and beauty items preferred by customers in their teens and twenties. T Day provides exceptional T Membership discounts on dates that form a T shape on the calendar. In November, planned offers include ▲ 50% discount on iPhone accessories at 11st (up to KRW 10,000) ▲ Cart Rider Rush Plus game items and gifticon giveaways ▲ KRW 5,000 discount coupon at Lalavla ▲ 20% discount on T map taxi rides (up to KRW 3,000 discount, 3 times per person).


In addition, showcases where customers can experience the iPhone will be operated mainly at nationwide 5GX Boost Parks, along with various prize events.


Customers can experience the iPhone 12 in a three-dimensional way at major experience zones within Boost Parks established at Lotte World Tower Mall Arena Plaza Cabin House and Gwangju U-Square. SK Telecom plans to select 12 regional partners of Boost Parks nationwide, which are frequently visited by customers, and provide generous prizes such as AirPods Pro to event participants.


Up to Approximately KRW 1.39 Million Benefits Including Partnership Cards and T Safe Compensation

SK Telecom has also prepared benefits that allow customers who feel burdened by purchasing the iPhone 12 to receive discounts of up to approximately KRW 1.39 million by combining partnership cards, T Safe Compensation, and T Moa Coupons.


Using both the ‘Shinhan Pineapple’ and ‘Lotte Telro SE’ partnership cards can provide discounts of up to KRW 770,000 on communication fees and installment payments. Additionally, through T Safe Compensation, customers who return their used smartphones will receive compensation of about KRW 520,000 (based on iPhone XS Max 512GB). T Moa Coupons can be issued using membership points such as credit cards and OK Cashback, allowing use like cash up to KRW 100,000.


In the future, customers wishing to upgrade to a new iPhone can consider subscribing to the ‘5GX Club iPhone 12.’ By paying a monthly fee of KRW 7,480 (VAT included), when upgrading to a new iPhone after 24 months, up to 50% of the original price can be waived. The ‘5GX Club iPhone 12’ also offers a premium option (KRW 8,910) that covers screen damage when returning the iPhone.
