On the 21st, Kim posted on his Facebook, saying, "The only animals with steel-like hearts and wills that travel thousands to tens of thousands of kilometers every year are birds of passage."

He added, "The reason why wild geese, which are birds of passage, are placed on the Jeonancheong during weddings is because geese maintain their fidelity for life," and said, "Rats never leave the gutter for their entire lives, but birds of passage fly against the seasons."

Earlier on the morning of the 21st, former lawmaker Geum announced his departure from the Democratic Party, stating, "The Democratic Party has changed so much that you can no longer find the previous flexibility, humility, and culture of communication."

In response, Democratic Party lawmaker Kim Nam-guk criticized former lawmaker Geum on his Facebook post, calling him "a bird of passage politician who only chases his own interests and position," and said, "It is so unexpected. There is no political event or interest, so it is too sudden and without justification."
