One-Stop Booking and Boarding Declaration... 'Naksihai' App Linked with Private Sea Fishing Reservation System

[Asia Economy Reporter Joo Sang-don] From now on, when booking through private sea fishing reservation systems such as 'Mulbango Gibban' and 'The Fishing,' the reservation information will be linked with the government's 'Naksihai (Fishing Sea)' application system, automatically creating a passenger list. It will also verify departure approval conditions in real-time, such as vessel inspection results, enabling the rapid completion of the departure approval process.

The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries and the Korea Coast Guard announced on the 22nd that starting from the 23rd, they will operate a linked system between the 'Naksihai' app and two private sea fishing reservation systems.

The number of sea fishing users reached 4.8 million last year, increasing by 15% annually over the past five years. However, users still faced inconveniences, such as captains manually preparing passenger lists and verifying IDs on the day of the reservation after booking through private sea fishing reservation systems. Additionally, captains had to visit the Coast Guard station to report departure, causing a wait time of about 30 minutes before departure.

In September last year, the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries developed the Naksihai app, which automatically inputs the passenger list and reports departure when users apply for boarding. However, due to low awareness and the inconvenience of having to install the app separately, usage rates were not high. Accordingly, from July 17 to September 11 this year, the ministry conducted a survey on public-private collaboration through 'National Thinking Box' and subsequently invited private businesses for collaboration through Gwanghwamun 1st Street's 'Collaboration Hub.' As a result, two companies, Mulbango Gibban and The Fishing, were selected, and system linkage was completed this month.

Um Ki-doo, Director of Fisheries Policy at the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, said, "Through this public-private collaboration, we expect the public to enjoy sea fishing more conveniently," adding, "We will continue to develop and implement various policies that enhance public convenience."
