[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province is publicly recruiting 12 public service workers. Public service workers refer to non-official employees who sign indefinite-term labor contracts with Seongnam City and work within the organization.
On the 22nd, Seongnam City announced through its website that it is recruiting a total of 12 people: 9 office workers including nurses, call center counselors, library DB construction clerks, library material organizers, illegal parking enforcement counselors, woodworking experience center operators, and funeral directors (3 people), and 3 labor workers including park managers, facility managers, and road repair workers.
Applications will be accepted from the 2nd to the 4th of next month.
Applicants must pass a document screening and then take a written exam consisting of 50 questions based on the National Competency Standards (NCS) on the 26th of next month, along with a 100 to 250 question multiple-choice personality test. Additionally, office worker applicants will take an extra 40-question job performance ability evaluation.
Labor worker applicants will undergo six physical fitness tests including sit-ups and grip strength based on the 'National Fitness 100' physical fitness measurement program before the written exam and personality test.
The city will select twice the number of candidates as the recruitment quota based on the highest scores in document screening and written exams, conduct in-depth interviews, and announce the final successful candidates on December 11.
To enhance fairness and transparency in the recruitment process of public service workers, the city added written exams, physical fitness tests, and personality tests in addition to document screening and interviews starting January this year, recruiting 25 people.
The number of public service workers within the Seongnam City organization is 889, accounting for 30% of the total 2,990 employees (based on the quota).
