Gangnam-gu Requests Cooperation from Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency and Seoul City for Nationwide Academy Instructors' Specimen Testing


[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] On the 21st, 3 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Gangnam-gu, bringing the total confirmed cases to 298.


The 3 residents of Gaepo-dong tested positive at the Gangnam-gu Public Health Center in connection with the cluster infection at ‘StarQ Billiard Hall’ (Nonhyeon-ro 12-gil 13).


Gangnam-gu confirmed a total of 9 cases, including 7 residents of Gangnam-gu, among whom the first confirmed case at the billiard hall was reported on the 17th, and the 3 newly confirmed cases today. An epidemiological investigation is underway to identify additional contacts.


Visitors to ‘StarQ Billiard Hall’ between the 8th and 19th of this month are requested to undergo specimen testing at the Gangnam-gu Public Health Center by the 23rd.


Meanwhile, specimen testing is currently being conducted at an emergency screening clinic set up near the Daechi 2-dong Community Center for a total of 3,075 instructors affiliated with local academies.


In this regard, Gangnam-gu has requested cooperation from the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency and the Seoul Metropolitan Government to ensure that specimen testing for academy instructors nationwide can be conducted to protect the health and safety of all examinees ahead of the college entrance exam in December.
