[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] The Jeju Regional Maritime Police Agency announced on the 21st that it has appointed experts in ship engine-related fields as advisory committee members to enhance the professionalism of Jeju Maritime Police's equipment management and has formed and is operating a "Technical Cooperation Advisory Committee."


The Technical Cooperation Advisory Committee consists of seven ship experts: Kang Changnam (Professor, College of Engineering, Jeju National University), Kim Seonkwon (Jeju Branch Manager, Korea Maritime Transportation Safety Authority), Kim Sangsoo (Ship Inspection Team Leader, Busan Headquarters, Korean Register), Oh Sangtae (Chief Engineer of Araho, Jeju National University), Lee Jaesoo (Chief Petty Officer in charge of ship repairs, Gangjeong Naval Base), Hyun Seonok (Professor, College of Engineering, Jeju National University), and Hyun Haksam (CEO, Ara Corporation).


The main duties include ▲ serving as expert investigators for causes when damage accidents occur to ships and equipment ▲ providing education to improve Jeju Maritime Police's ship maintenance capabilities ▲ proposing policies for Jeju Maritime Police equipment management, and they will work to advance the ship equipment management tasks of Jeju Maritime Police.


Kim Seongjong, Chief of Jeju Maritime Police Agency, said, "With the appointment of this Technical Cooperation Advisory Committee, we expect it to be an opportunity to overcome the regional limitations that inevitably make ship equipment management vulnerable."
