[Asia Economy Reporter Minwoo Lee] Hyundai Motor Company (KOSPI) and Duksan Neolux (KOSDAQ) were recognized as the companies that actively conducted investor relations (IR) activities this year and contributed to the capital market.


The Korea IR Association held the '2020 Korea IR Awards' ceremony at 10 a.m. on the 21st at the Glad Hotel in Yeouido, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, announcing the award winners.


The grand prize, the Financial Services Commission Chairman's Award, was awarded to Hyundai Motor Company in the KOSPI market and Duksan Neolux in the KOSDAQ market. The Korea IR Association explained the reasons for the awards, stating, "Hyundai Motor Company actively conducted IR activities by holding a 'CEO Investor Day' attended by top management to share mid- to long-term strategies and goals with investors, and improved investor convenience and reliability by conducting existing earnings announcements and sales status briefings via conference calls. Duksan Neolux's CEO personally held IR meetings with major institutions and foreign investors, and after the COVID-19 pandemic, switched major face-to-face meetings to conference calls to provide equal information to domestic and international investors."


The Korea Exchange Chairman's Award for Excellence was given to SK Hynix (KOSPI) and Studio Dragon (KOSDAQ). The Korea IR Association Chairman's Award for Merit was awarded to LG Electronics and Kakao (both KOSPI), and EcoPro BM and Intellian Technologies (both KOSDAQ).


Additionally, a total of 20 companies, including the award winners, were selected as excellent IR companies. In the KOSPI market, BGF, CJ CheilJedang, HiteJinro, Hanwha Solutions, and Hyundai Mobis were included. In the KOSDAQ market, Medipost, Seoul Semiconductor, AfreecaTV, Alteogen, Classys, and Techwing were selected.


The individual 'Best IRO Award,' given to one executive and one employee each, was also announced. In the KOSPI market, Executive Director Euisub Lee of Hyundai Mobis and Manager Hyungwook Kim of Hanwha Solutions received the award, while in the KOSDAQ market, Executive Director Minseok Lee of Alteogen and Deputy Manager Yujin Choi of Classys were honored.
