Hello Nature Launches 'Variety Pack' Featuring Unique Apple Varieties

[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Online food life shop Hello Nature announced on the 21st that it will launch a limited-time "Autumn Apple Variety Pack" containing four unique apple varieties to celebrate the fall season.


The newly introduced apple variety pack includes one each of Yangkwang apple, Gamhong apple, Hongok apple, and Shinano Gold apple, allowing customers to enjoy a wider range of apple varieties all at once. The price is 13,000 KRW.


This product is the first time the sampler method, mainly used for processed foods, has been applied to fresh produce like apples, offering the advantage of tasting all four apples by purchasing just one pack.


Yangkwang apples have thin skin and firm flesh, making them suitable for long-term storage while boasting a crisp texture. Gamhong apples are high-sugar apples maintaining an average of over 17 brix and have a distinctive fragrant aroma.


The deeply red Hongok apple features soft flesh and a sour taste stronger than its sweetness, giving it a sweet and tangy flavor. The Shinano Gold apple, called the golden apple due to its yellow color resembling a pear, is a unique variety with rich juice and a refreshing taste.


These apples have been difficult to access due to distribution network limitations and limited harvest periods. Through this project, Hello Nature focused on discovering various apple varieties from famous production areas to offer consumers a novel experience.


Since this month, Hello Nature has started selling Yangkwang apples, Gamhong apples, and Shinano Gold apples (4 pieces each) by variety. Their rarity, available only for about a month during the autumn season from October to early November, has spread by word of mouth, leading to daily sales being sold out early due to popularity.


Thanks to the strong sales of these products, Hello Nature's fruit category sales from the 1st to the 19th of this month increased by 22.5% compared to the same period last month, reflecting the Chuseok holiday demand.


Kim Dongyun, Fresh MD at Hello Nature, said, "We applied the sampler method so that consumers can enjoy the diverse characteristics of seasonal apples all at once," adding, "Going forward, Hello Nature will continue to introduce various products tailored to segmented customer demands based on our brand philosophy of embracing diverse tastes even within a single fruit."
