[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ji-hee] Volvo Cars Korea launched the new Cross Country (V90) in the domestic market on the 21st. The Cross Country is a crossover model that combines the stable ride comfort of a sedan with the driving performance of an off-roader.

The new Cross Country (V90), introduced three years after the domestic launch, completes its exterior with modern elegance and dynamic front and rear detail designs. The front features a 3D emblem, a newly designed radiator grille, front fog lights, and skid plates, creating a strong impression. The side length has increased by 20mm compared to the previous model, and the rear is equipped with full-LED tail lamps including sequential turn signals and hidden tailpipes symbolizing the eco-friendly powertrain.

The interior comes standard across all trims with advanced air purification functions capable of monitoring ultrafine dust (PM 2.5), a fine dust filter, an electric panoramic sunroof, rear seat side sunblinds, and power folding rear headrests.

The main selling trim, the Pro model, offers a more personalized space with a tailored instrument panel finish available in Pitched Oak or Gray Ash depending on the seat color. The seats support electric side support and cushion extension for the front seats, massage functions, as well as heated and ventilated seats as standard. Additionally, an upgraded Bowers & Wilkins (B&W) sound system supporting noise canceling and a new jazz mode has been added.

Following the global powertrain strategy, the new Cross Country (V90) excludes diesel engine trims and is launched with a B5 gasoline mild hybrid engine paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive (AWD) system. It delivers a maximum output of 250 horsepower and a peak torque of 35.7 kg·m.

Five driving modes are also provided: Eco, Comfort, Dynamic, Off-road, and Personalized.

Equipped with safety features befitting Volvo, the "symbol of safety," the vehicle includes ▲‘Pilot Assist II,’ which assists steering by maintaining distance from the vehicle ahead and keeping the car centered in the lane ▲‘City Safety,’ an emergency braking system with vehicle, pedestrian, cyclist, and large animal detection and intersection collision risk detection ▲road departure mitigation ▲advanced ‘IntelliSafe’ system comprising collision avoidance with oncoming vehicles, all standard across trims. Additionally, the Care Key, which allows drivers to preset the maximum driving speed to reduce accident damage caused by speeding, is also provided as standard.

The price of the new Cross Country (V90) is set at 69 million KRW for the B5 AWD and 75.2 million KRW for the B5 AWD Pro. It offers industry-leading 5-year or 100,000 km warranty and maintenance services.
