Kumho Tire Signs Naming Sponsorship for Superrace GT Class

[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] Kumho Tire announced on the 21st that it has signed a naming sponsorship agreement for the '2020 CJ Logistics Superrace Championship GT Class.' Accordingly, the 2020 season CJ Logistics Superrace Championship GT Class will be renamed the 'Kumho GT' class and continue the races under this new name.

Earlier this year, Kumho Tire participated as the official tire supplier for the GT class, supporting the stable operation of the class for two consecutive years, and has now signed a new naming sponsorship for the GT class. The Kumho GT class is scheduled to hold its first race at Inje Speedium as part of the Gangwon International Motor Festa on the 24th and 25th.

Sangyeop Kim, Vice President of Kumho Tire, said, "Through this naming sponsorship agreement, both companies will achieve a win-win and do their best to actively contribute to the revitalization of domestic motorsports." In response, Dongbin Kim, CEO of Superrace, expressed gratitude, saying, "We appreciate Kumho Tire's unwavering interest and support for the development of domestic motorsports."

Meanwhile, Kumho Tire has been actively supporting the development of motorsports, including founding the EXRTA Racing Team in 2014, which consists of singer and broadcaster Jinpyo Kim as director, former Japanese F1 driver Yuji Ide, and driver Jeong Seok-cheol. The EXRTA Racing Team won the team championship in the 2015 CJ Superrace, the year after its founding, and achieved an integrated victory in 2016 with the team championship and Jeong winning the season championship.

This year, with three race cars driven by Jeong, Donggi Noh, and Jungwoo Lee, the team is participating in the 2020 CJ Logistics Superrace Championship Super 6000 Class, currently holding second place in the team overall points, moving one step closer to the goal of winning the season championship.
