[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] Hong Nam-ki, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance, stated on the 21st, "The government will make every effort to protect actual tenants and stabilize the jeonse market."


At the Economic Situation Review Meeting held at the National Assembly on the same day, Deputy Prime Minister Hong said, "The issues are the real estate market and household debt. Prompt responses to internal risk factors are necessary." He added, "Real estate prices are rising, and the available supply is decreasing."


Deputy Prime Minister Hong said, "All achievements are difficult to accomplish in a short time without the full cooperation and collaboration of the party," and requested, "I ask for active support in the National Assembly's review of major economic bills and next year's budget during the regular session."


He also stated, "We will enhance policy momentum for revitalizing domestic demand, supporting exports, and improving employment," and announced, "Along with the resumption of some consumer coupon payments starting tomorrow (the 22nd), we will actively promote events such as the Korea Sale Festa."


Finally, Deputy Prime Minister Hong emphasized, "Having endured the COVID-19 crisis and with social distancing lowered to level 1, we must rise with hope and move forward," adding, "The government will accelerate the relay race toward the rebound and leap of our economy starting from itself."
