Gangdong-gu Multicultural and General Families Festival 'Family Merry Song Festival' Held

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Jeong-hoon) will hold the "Family Cheerful Song Festival," a multicultural family and general family festival where everyone enjoys together, online on the 24th.

Now in its 8th year, the "One Family Festival" has been held annually as a family sports day for all Gangdong families to participate and enjoy. However, this year, due to the spread of COVID-19, it will be held online in a non-face-to-face format to prevent infection and ensure the safety of participants.

This event continues the meaning of a multicultural festival that understands and respects diverse cultures, prepared as a cheerful song festival that families can enjoy together at home.

Moreover, families who applied in advance were provided with masked kits, further enhancing the fun of the festival.

The district accepted pre-registrations for the song festival from September 25 to October 11. Forty videos were submitted in which families directly performed songs, dances, and performances expressing messages of overcoming COVID-19 in their own ways. Among these, videos of 10 families who advanced to the final round will be showcased on an online platform from 10:30 AM on the 24th.

Residents who wish to watch the "Family Cheerful Song Festival" can pre-register at the Gangdong-gu Healthy Family and Multicultural Family Support Center and watch the final videos on YouTube on the day of the festival. During the competition, real-time comment participation and quiz events will be held for viewers, providing additional enjoyment.

Lee Jeong-hoon, Mayor of Gangdong-gu, said, "I hope this event will be a healing time for Gangdong families who are exhausted due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic," and added, "We will continue to promote various policies so that Gangdong families can come together, understand, and empathize with each other's diversity, spreading a culture of harmony."
