Daesang Cheongjeongwon, Naju Gomtang, and Other 'Everyday Home Meals' Launch 3 New Nutritious Convenience Foods


[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Sunghye] Daesang Cheongjeongwon announced on the 21st that it has launched three new health-boosting ready meal products through its convenient meal brand ‘Ilsang Gajeongsik’ to capture consumers' tastes in the autumn season.


The newly introduced products are three types of soup dishes highly regarded as health foods: ▲Naju Gomtang ▲Spicy Yang Gomtang ▲Eel Soup. These soups, which were mainly enjoyed as dining-out dishes due to the complicated ingredient preparation and cooking process, can now be easily enjoyed at home.


‘Naju Gomtang’ is made by simmering Korean beef leg bones and brisket to create a rich broth, then adding thinly sliced beef cut along the grain and boiling it clear. Radish juice is added to give it a refreshing taste. ‘Spicy Yang Gomtang’ uses Korean beef leg bone broth with stir-fried chili seasoning to create a spicy flavor, and is filled with tenderly shredded beef and beef tripe. Ginger and minced garlic are added to provide a clean taste without any unpleasant odors.


The ‘Eel Soup,’ which captures the nutrition of eel highly regarded as a health food, is made by simmering whole eel instead of eel paste, then finely straining it through a sieve to create a thick and rich broth. Domestic Korean cabbage and fragrant perilla leaves are used to remove any fishy smell, and perilla seed powder and red pepper powder are added to give it a spicy and mild flavor.


The products are released as shelf-stable items for long-term storage, and the cooking method is simple. Pour the contents into a microwave-safe container and heat for about 5 minutes, or place the sealed pouch in boiling water and heat for about 5 to 6 minutes to complete a restaurant-quality soup dish.
