LG Electronics announced on the 21st that it will newly launch the premium home beauty device 'LG Pra.L Eye Care (model name: EWN1)'.
[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] LG Electronics announced on the 21st that it will newly launch the premium home beauty device ‘LG Pra.L Eye Care (model name: EWN1)’.
LG Electronics will start pre-orders from the 21st to the 29th through the live commerce event ‘Naver Shopping Live’. During the live commerce broadcast, actress Lee Yoori will interact with customers and introduce the Eye Care device directly.
Eye Care is a beauty device dedicated to the eye area that focuses on managing the skin tone and elasticity around the eyes, as well as dermal density, dark circles, and eye bags.
LG Electronics explained that the product was developed considering that many customers are highly interested in and want to intensively care for the skin around their eyes. The skin around the eyes is thin and has low sebum secretion, making it easily affected by weak daily stimuli such as ultraviolet rays, makeup, facial expressions, and sleeping posture, which can easily damage elastic cells.
Eye Care features a goggle-type design that can be worn comfortably like glasses. It weighs 125g, is lightweight, and the size of the temple arms can be adjusted according to the circumference of the face, allowing comfortable use while adhering closely to the skin.
The product offers a total of six care modes depending on the customer's skin type. Users can choose between Basic Mode (9 minutes care) and Mild Mode (15 minutes care) according to the LED intensity, and the microcurrent intensity can be adjusted from levels 1 to 3 in each mode.
Eye Care applies a complex care technology combining red LED and near-infrared LED light sources with microcurrents to improve not only bright skin tone but also skin elasticity. The eye patch attached to the product delivers microcurrents that stimulate the eye area’s skin tissue and muscles, activating collagen and elastin production from the lower dermis beneath the epidermis.
According to clinical trial results conducted by the Global Medical Research Center[1], the dermal density of participants’ eye corner skin increased by 31.8%, and elasticity improved by 20% compared to before using Eye Care. Dark circles and eye bags improved by 5.8% and 11.5%, respectively.
Eye Care has been verified for safety not only through the ‘LG Pra.L Dermatology Advisory Group’ composed of dermatologists and ophthalmologists but also passed all the ‘Preliminary Safety Standards for Non-Medical LED Mask-Type Products’ announced by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety.
This product is equipped with safety features such as the ‘Eye Shield’, an anti-glare device, and a ‘wear detection sensor’ that only operates when worn correctly. According to tests by the Korea Photonics Technology Institute, it blocks up to 99% of LED light entering the eyes.
The retail price is 599,000 KRW. Donggi Son, Executive Director of LG Electronics Korea HE Marketing, emphasized, "We will lead the ‘focused care’ trend in the home beauty device market by leveraging the excellent efficacy and safety of LG Pra.L’s diverse lineup."
