[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-ju] In China, a middle school student who is taller than even professional adult male basketball players has recently become a hot topic.

According to Weibo and other sources on the 20th, a 14-year-old middle school student from Leshan City, Sichuan Province, China, measured his height at 2.21 meters on the 15th.

This student is expected to be listed in the Guinness World Records as the "tallest youth in the world."

Two witnesses for the Guinness World Records application were present during the height measurement. They had the middle school student lean against a wall and climbed onto a chair to carefully measure his height.

The student expressed the inconvenience of daily life, saying that his head almost touches the ceiling inside his home and that he has to contort his body to get into a car.

His home is equipped with a specially made 2.5-meter bed, a large chair, and a desk.

It is reported that when this middle school student was in elementary school in 2018, he was already 2.06 meters tall.

The eligibility for the Guinness World Records challenge for "the tallest youth in the world" is between ages 13 and 18, and the current record holder, an American youth, is 2.15 meters tall.

Therefore, if the measurement data of this middle school student passes the official review by the Guinness World Records in London, he is expected to become the tallest youth in the world.

The student also has a good appetite, and both parents are tall, each 1.9 meters, suggesting that genetic factors have influenced his growth.

The student said, "Because I am so tall, I have undergone several hospital examinations to check if there is any problem, but all results came back normal."
