Shinwon Elementary and Gabuk Elementary Hold Nationwide Information Sessions for Student Recruitment

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 20th that it held a meeting with project stakeholders for the School Closure Crisis Escape Project at the county office situation room, attended by Gu In-mo, Geochang County Governor, Choi Young-ho, Deputy Governor, principals of Sinwon and Gabuk Elementary Schools, and the Director of the Education Support Division of Geochang Office of Education.

The meeting was organized to explain the progress made so far at Sinwon Elementary School and Gabuk Elementary School, which were selected through the application for the 'School Closure Crisis Escape Consulting Support Project,' and to discuss future plans.

Sinwon and Gabuk Elementary Schools plan to hold a nationwide briefing session for student recruitment on the 29th at the Press Center in Gwanghwamun, Seoul, and discussed specific details regarding this event.

The nationwide briefing session will be conducted in the form of a nationwide briefing and press conference under the theme of 'Building a Rural Utopia as an Educational and Cultural Community of Yeongho-nam,' with participation from Samae Elementary School in Namwon-si, Jeonbuk Province, and Budang Elementary School in Muju-gun.

The event is expected to be a significant driving force for escaping the school closure crisis and regional development, with attendance from the Chairperson of the National Balanced Development Committee, President of Korea Land and Housing Corporation, President of Korea Rural Economic Institute, President of the Korea Research Institute for Human Settlements, and government ministry officials.

Gu In-mo, Geochang County Governor, stated, "The influx of young population into the myeon (township) areas is urgently needed, and elementary schools are facing the risk of closure. Through this nationwide briefing session for student recruitment, I hope to promote the strengths of Sinwon and Gabuk Elementary Schools as well as our county, leading to population growth and development of the county."

Meanwhile, Sinwon and Gabuk Elementary Schools have each formed promotion committees called the Sinwon Shinbaram Committee and Gabuk PLUS Committee through the school closure crisis escape consulting, playing a pivotal role in establishing concrete plans and raising funds to overcome the school closure crisis.
