[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization announced on the 20th that they selected seven outstanding participating companies that contributed to fostering a free vacation culture and revitalizing domestic travel among more than 7,500 companies that participated in the Worker Vacation Support Project last year.
The Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award was given to Donghae Industry SEPA and UBrain Communications Co., Ltd. The President of the Korea Tourism Organization Award was given to Spigen Korea Co., Ltd., Dongyang Gijeon Co., Ltd., Soyou Branding Co., Ltd., Sehyun Tax Accounting Office, and Roda IT Co., Ltd.
According to the Korea Tourism Organization, these companies saw an increase in annual leave usage rates by up to 20% compared to the previous year due to their participation in the project. Interest in vacations and domestic travel among employees significantly increased, leading to voluntary information sharing and communication, resulting in positive changes in corporate culture.
The Worker Vacation Support Project allows workers to use 400,000 KRW for domestic travel expenses by contributing 200,000 KRW themselves, with the company and government each supporting 100,000 KRW.
