[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Hyun-joo] A learning assistant called 'Durisaem Deoham' will be provided to support basic academic skills for students using elementary after-school care classrooms.

The Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education announced on the 20th that it will offer the second support project, Durisaem Deoham, which expands the existing Durisaem program.

Durisaem Deoham is a learning management and support assistant that pairs Durisaem with students using after-school care classrooms to ensure students' basic academic skills. Through Durisaem Deoham, one assistant is paired with about 10 care students, and the assistant provides support such as remote learning assistance. The personnel involved in Durisaem Deoham consist of university students majoring in education or enrolled in teacher training courses, retired teachers, and after-school instructors, who generally have a high understanding of schools and students.

Durisaem Deoham operates in morning, afternoon, or mixed formats, and schools will be accepted for application, prioritizing 262 schools that have not been supported by the existing Durisaem program.
