Dongkuk Steel, Launches 'Chameleon Color Steel Plate'

The chameleon color steel sheets are produced using the 'imprinting' technique, which involves pressing a patterned roll onto the coating film applied on the steel plate. They feature diffuse reflection that makes colors and patterns appear differently depending on the viewing angle, light, and position of the illumination, and the texture can vary depending on the pressure applied by the roll on the coating film.

In particular, Dongkuk Steel's chameleon color steel sheets allow pattern implementation, adding a sense of luxury compared to ordinary plain steel sheets. Compared to regular printed steel sheets, chameleon color steel sheets offer more freedom in color difference management and, by using fluororesin coatings, provide excellent workability, weather resistance, and corrosion resistance, enabling a warranty of over 25 years, making them ideal for exterior materials.

By giving a textured feel through the imprinting technique, these steel sheets have strong surface hardness, overcoming the softness, which is the only weakness of fluororesin steel sheets, making them optimized materials for markets requiring various physical properties for both interior and exterior materials.

Previously, roofs or walls of houses and commercial buildings often used dark zinc or corrosion-resistant copper as accents, but with the advent of Dongkuk Steel's chameleon steel sheets, unique building designs are possible with colors and patterns such as Sapphire, Garnet, Ruby, and Gold Black.

Along with this, Dongkuk Steel produces various imprinting steel sheets, including high-brightness imprinting, pearl imprinting, and two-tone imprinting. Dongkuk Steel plans to proactively respond to the trend of premiumization in the building materials market and continue investing in high-profit color steel sheets.
