[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Young-eun] Jeong Cheong-rae, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, said to Kim Jong-in, the Emergency Committee Chairman of the People Power Party, "The People Power Party is currently in the Kim Jong-in dictatorship era," and added, "I hope those with intentions within the People Power Party will make an effort."
On the 17th, Jeong said on his Facebook, "(Chairman Kim Jong-in) says, 'There are no candidates for the by-election within the People Power Party,'" adding, "This kind of statement is usually wording used by political commentators, journalists, or the opposing party as part of election strategy."
He continued, "Since the party leader is disparaging the repeatedly mentioned candidates from his own party day after day, it is natural that those who want to run are boiling with frustration," and asked, "Why does Mr. Kim Jong-in keep saying things like this?"
Then he targeted Chairman Kim, saying, "First, there really are no competitive candidates; second, he hasn't found a candidate he likes yet; third, he absolutely hates the candidates being mentioned; fourth, for now, only he should be in the spotlight; and fifth, he means for everyone to quietly watch his mouth and stay silent."
Jeong criticized, "As I have predicted before, this person lacks an organizational perspective and has a personality that is only satisfied when the world revolves around himself," adding, "He is far from democratic."
He also pointed out, "The rolling stone removes the embedded stone, as important matters such as the party name, party color, and party headquarters are being decided one after another during his temporary tenure as emergency committee chairman. The embedded stones remain quietly silent." He continued, "The People Power Party is truly in the Kim Jong-in solo dictatorship era. Internal members seem to be unknowingly unable to speak against the dictatorship and are being tamed that way."
